I’m hopelessly addicted and mostly loving it. When I should be cleaning, writing, talking with friends, paying bills, or going to sleep, I’m watching or listening. Sometimes I fall asleep; other times I freeze, eyes wide open.
My favorite presenters “cut to the chase”; I don’t care for chit chat. The humorous podcasts are my least favorite.
I prefer videos that last no more than an hour, though some of my favorites are much longer. I believe that a time limit forces the presenters to get to the point and not go in circles. I don’t love documentaries, though I watch them sometimes. They’re too impersonal.
Here are my favorites:
- Favorites – with video
- True Crime Daily with Ana Garcia—fast paced, interesting guests
- Crime Weekly with Stephanie Harlowe and Derrick Levasseur—detective POV; thorough research
- True Crime & Makeup – Danielle Kirsty—Love her accent
- Mile Higher Podcast with Kendall Rae and Josh Thomas—Two points of view
- Brooke Makenna—Kind person who is concise and non-judgmental in her presentation
- Favorites – without video
My favorite podcasts are too numerous to mention; mainly I love whatever I’m bingeing on at the moment. Right now that’s Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan. Love that voice—and his extensive knowledge. I also enjoy Crime Junkie with Ashley Flowers and Britt. And many others.
I listen to these at night when I’m falling asleep—or staying awake, as the case may be.
Forgive me, podcasters! I’m not saying you’re boring. Just the opposite. The podcasts have to be engaging so that I can forget I’m trying to fall asleep—and then fall asleep. Works for me.
On another note, Crime Con is almost upon us. I’m debating virtual attendance. Any advice or suggestions?
